Default Earth may be much older than we thought, scientists say

Quote:
Researchers have found evidence in Western Australia that Earth may be 300 million years older than we thought.

That is the conclusion from a team of geochemists at UCLA and Stanford University who found evidence that life likely existed on Earth at least 4.1 billion years ago and may have begun shortly after the

planet formed 4.54 billion years ago.

“Twenty years ago, this would have been heretical; finding evidence of life 3.8 billion years ago was shocking,” said Mark Harrison, professor of geochemistry at UCLA and the co-author of the research

published this week in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

“Life on Earth may have started almost instantaneously,” he said in a statement. “With the right ingredients, life seems to form very quickly.”

Do any of our creationists (Hugh, Hiles) want to comment?

Well it was easily explained during the jurassic period. It's going to be more difficult for billions of years ago.

Quick, I'm going to need a photo of micro-jesus riding bacteria. Someone get on that.

Aw, common Varg you know the earth is only 6000 years old! . It wasn't but maybe 4000 years ago when jeboo was riding a T-Rex.

Despite this wealth of evidence, it is important to understand that, from the perspective of observational science, no one can prove absolutely how young (or old) the universe is. Only one dating method is absolutely reliable—a witness who doesn’t lie, who has all evidence, and who can reveal to us when the universe began!

And we do have such a witness—the God of the Bible! He has given us a specific history, beginning with the six days of Creation and followed by detailed genealogies that allow us to determine when the universe began. Based on this history, the beginning was only about six thousand years ago (about four thousand years from Creation to Christ).
So there we have it. How can anyone argue with god? They wouldn't want to be a heretic or a blasphemer would they?

Actually, there's another useful witness - the cosmic microwave background radiation. It's totally measurable, constant, and can be extrapolated backward to determine the likely time of a singularity at the origin of what has now become the observable universe.

Jeboo was about something else altogether. See W.G.Simpson, Which Way Western Man, for interesting discussion about Jeboo. Spoiler alert: Simpson leaves the physicist stuff to the physicists.

More importantly are christ tards who completely discount the findings of our greatest minds just because buy-bull explains it differently in a simplistic manner for retards. Retards look for simple explanations for complex things they don't understand. Whereas normal people should possess the ability to be content with not knowing without it affecting their lives. People used to look up in the sky and hear thunder or see lightning, and attributed that to being some god that was pissed off. Many christ tards probably still think god is angry when they hear thunder. Meteorology is blasphemy.
