Amazon, Apple and Google have banned the Parler social networking app from their respective services and app stores in the wake of Wednesday's attack on the US Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters. Parler has been rife with violent comments since before the attack on the Capitol.

Parler's CEO John Matze posted on his app late Saturday that Amazon had informed him it would no longer help to host his app on its Amazon Web Services platform. The move followed earlier announcements by Apple and Google would be pulling the app from their respective app stores as well.

Now it's legal to destroy companies if they are on a hit list. Tech has too much power.

Yes, in general, this isn't good, but here's what I just posted in another thread about why I personally won't shed a tear for Parler.

So in other words what he's saying is, if you post something deemed "nasty" by someone, whatever their definition of nasty is, they will likely give your phone # to a law enforcement agency in order to help them identify you, even if what you said is not illegal or promotes anything illegal. Sure, you can use a burner phone, but that's not the point. The point is that Parler obviously is not really a supporter of free speech like they want people to believe. Therefore they can't be trusted and should be assumed to be a honeypot.

According to Alex and Alexander the tech companies could get into a bit of trouble over this incident, regulators may be forced into changing laws which big tech is currently flouting, such as the difference between a platform vs. a publisher.
