I think the name you're talking about is Tatiana, NOT "Tits-ee-anna." LOL! What's on your mind?

It's pronounced like Thot-ee-onna. Not a "tee" sound, but a Th, like in Thor, or the "T" in Latin, in other words... No "H" needed.

Since you know she's Italian, are you that clueless about Latin that you couldn't sound it out, and spell it?

I'm pretty sure she didn't pronounce her own name incorrectly.

Maybe she was trying to pronounce her name in an English style. That's the only way I can see how one would get anywhere near "Tits-ee-anna" from Tatiana.

A few of my ancestors who were Confederate veterans. They were all privates, they all volunteered, and none of them owned any slaves:

John Calvin Akins, 56th Alabama Cavalry, great-great-grandfather

David Alexander, Georgia Infantry, 3rd great grandfather

Archibald Keeton, 56th Alabama Cavalry, 4th great-grandfather

George Anderson Rice, Alabama Infantry, 4th great-grandfather

James Butler, Alabama infantry, 4th great-grandfather

I had a few other ancestors who were in the Confederate Army, but have never seen photographs of them.

Last summer at a part time evening job in Chattanooga, a former skinhead pulled me aside and said, "I bet you do not know those two nigger's names", pointing to two nigger brothers.

"Not a clue, tell me."

"General Lee and George Wallace."

Her name wasn't Tatiana. I went to school with a girl named Tatiana and she pronounced it exactly how it sounds Tah-tee-ah-nah.

George Wallace was a character, literally. He started out his political career in support of black civil rights, but after he lost an election due to his liberal position, he switched sides and played the part of a staunch supporter of racial segregation. A smart political move at the time, but one which he ended up apologizing to the blacks for later near the end of his political career.

Fortunately, or unfortunately (if reparations are ever passed) my family has many slaves that share our last name (as was custom).

Which is still sort of an English way of pronouncing that name. There's no "tee" or "tea" sound. It's not an English name, so its proper pronunciation isn't in English. Not sure if by "Tah" you mean "ta" as in "ta-ta's" or not. Probably not, in which case that would be correct, but not the "tee."

Tatiana is the feminine form of Tatianus, a Latin name.

If you run into "Tits" girl again, ask her how she spells her name.

Well, good for them. My ancestors had enough sense to not get involved in a Civil War funded on both sides by the Rothschilds. They stayed home and cooked moonshine for the Confederates. A confederate soldier died in my great...great grandfather's home, built in 1804 in Bell county, Kentucky. My cousin relocated that home in Blount county Tennessee some ten years ago.

My family even owned slaves. One can still see bullet holes in the Bell county courthouse in Pinesville when my family decided to settle the matter of someone interfering with their investment before the judge had a say in the matter.

I see that you are still giving elementary school lessons here on VNN. Is it because you had to go to wiki again and found something interesting to you?

Who remembers NASCAR driver Dick Trickle?
Terrible name sounds like a symptom.
