On streets of Athens, racist attacks increase

Athens, Greece • The attack came seemingly out of nowhere. As the 28-year-old Bangladeshi man dug around trash bins one recent afternoon for scrap metal, two women and a man set upon him with a knife. He screamed as he fell. Rushed to the hospital, he was treated for a gash to the back of his thigh.

Greek president apologies to Morsi for attacks on Egyptians

Morsi aide Ayman Ali says Greek president has apologised for racist attacks targeting Egyptians in Greece

Ahram Online, Monday 12 Nov 2012

Greek president Karolos Papoulias

Greek President Karolos Papoulias has apologised to President Mohamed Morsi for recent attacks on Egyptian migrants in Greece, presidential aide for foreign affairs Ayman Ali said Monday.

Waleed Taleb, a 29-year-old undocumented Egyptian immigrant, was recently found chained to a tree on the island of Salamina west of Athens. He had been brutally beaten all over his body.

Frequent attacks have been targeting immigrants in Greece, allegedly by members of the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party. Last Wednesday a mob reportedly led by Golden Dawn orchestrated an attack on immigrants that left several injured, including five Egyptians. Another twelve Egyptians were arrested by police but media reports have not mentioned whether the attackers have been arrested.

According to the Al-Ahram Arabic website Ali said the Greek president had promised to take the necessary measures against the assailants and confirmed the attacks against Egyptians did not reflect state policy or orientation.

Ali’s statements came after his meeting with President Morsi on Monday.

Support for Greece’s far-right Golden Dawn swells amid wave of racial violence

12 November, 2012, 18:04

Members of the Greek extreme-right ultra nationalist party Golden Dawn [one of the global junkmedia's favorite generic GD photos because they think it makes GD look threatening and naziish]

Greece’s neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party is gaining popularity in the midst of the country’s deepening financial crisis. The group has been implicated in torture cases, and for inciting an wave of racial violence sweeping the country.

An opinion poll published by KAPA Research in October showed that support for the extremist political group had grown from 7.5 percent of the population in June to 10.4 percent currently.

The Golden Dawn emerged from political obscurity into the mainstream in May after winning 7 percent of the vote in the Greek parliamentary elections. Since then, the country has reportedly witnessed an upsurge in racial violence connected to the right-wing group.

"Violence is getting wilder and wilder and we still have the same pattern of attacks… committed by groups of people in quite an organized way," Kostis Papaioannou, former head of the Greek National Commission for Human Rights 'human rights' is code for anti-White: the non-white has the 'human right' to invade the white man's country, and, once there, has the right to health care, education, and welfare. the white man has the racist right to pay for it all and not complain, or he be branded a hater, racist, extremist; someone who is dangerous, crazy, and whose politics must be suppressed and finally stamped out. in that we jews and tools will create a New World Order in which the jews, the only unmixed race remaining, will reign supreme. that's the guts of it. the rest is details told AP.

Out of the 18 MPs selected in June to represent the Golden Dawn in parliament, four are under investigation for violent attacks and have been stripped of their parliamentary immunity.

While addressing parliament in October, MP Eleni Zaroulia referred to immigrants as “subhuman,” while Efstathios Boukouras allegedly attacked the mayor of Corinth with a whip in July.

According to statistics collated by human rights groups, there have been 87 racial attacks between January and September. The groups stressed that the real figure likely far exceed this number, since many attacks are not documented or reported.

"Most of the time the victims, they don't want to talk about this, they don't feel safe," Nikitas Kanakis, president of the Greek section of Doctors of the World told AP. "The fear is present and this is the bigger problem."

The Golden Dawn has been repeatedly implicated in racial violence, but has emphatically denied its involvement. The party has also expressed overt hostility towards immigrants in Greece, championing slogans such as ‘clean up the stench,’ and ‘Greece for the Greeks.’ They have pledged to eject all immigrants from Greece should they gain power, and want to militarize Greece’s borders with landmines and armed patrols.

“The only racist attacks that exist in Greece for the last years are the attacks that illegal immigrants are doing against Greeks,” Ilias Panagiotaros, a Golden Dawn party member said to AP. The AP doesn't cover these attacks because they directly controvert the agenda.

Torture allegations

There have also been a number of reports of neo-Nazi sympathizers infiltrating the Greek police force. The Greek government said it is currently investigating accusations that police brutally tortured 15 members of an anti-fascist organization in September.

Public order minister Nikos Dendias said that the probe would take the form of a closed inquiry. He pledged to stamp out racial violence in Greece, and appointed a new police unit to deal with racial incidents.

But support for the far-right continues to grow in Greece amid mounting economic turmoil and unemployment topping 50 percent amongst the nation’s youth. The Golden Dawn has capitalized on public resentment for the government’s austerity measures, and with the country’s worsening economic situation, the political balance could further shift in their favor.

Europe’s Populists at the Gate
12/11/2012 By Barry Eichengreen 0 Comments and 0 Reactions

Is Europe’s crisis over? Investors, policy analysts, and even officials are quietly beginning to suggest that this might be the case. The euro has strengthened by nearly 10% against the dollar since European Central Bank President Mario Draghi vowed on July 26 to do “whatever it takes” to hold the currency together.

Similarly, the Euro VIX, a popular measure of expectations of euro volatility, has fallen significantly. The cost of buying protection against fluctuations in the euro/dollar exchange rate declined last month to its lowest level in nearly five years. Borrowing costs for the Spanish and Italian governments have similarly fallen dramatically.

A consistent narrative underpins this change in market conditions. European leaders have put in place mechanisms to support Italy and Spain. As of October, the continent has an operational European Stability Mechanism to purchase new Italian and Spanish government bonds if investors go on strike.

In parallel, the ECB has announced an “outright monetary transactions” (OMT) program to purchase bonds already trading on the secondary market. At their most recent summit, European Union leaders reiterated their commitment to finalize the design of a single supervisory mechanism by January 1, 2013, and to activate it by the end of next year.

These steps, it is argued, have taken both sovereign-default risk and a banking crisis off the table. With the ESM and ECB capping interest rates on government bonds, countries will have as much time as they need – and they will need plenty – to reduce their debt burdens to manageable levels. And, with a single supervisor in place, the ESM will be permitted to inject capital directly into troubled banks. The new banking union can then be extended to include a common resolution fund to enable the orderly dissolution of insolvent institutions.

To be sure, there are some gaps in this narrative. The ESM has limited firepower, and, along with the ECB, will buy only the bonds of governments that ask, something that proud leaders are reluctant to do. The end-2013 deadline for implementation of the banking union is a long way off. Even if there is agreement on the need for a common resolution fund – which is not clear – there is no agreement on how to pay for it.

Nevertheless, the markets evidently regard this as a comforting bedtime story – all the more so now that European leaders have averred that Greece will not be pushed out of the eurozone. Officials recognize that cutting off EU support and compelling the ECB to stop providing credit to the Bank of Greece would be Europe’s Lehman Brothers moment. The consequences could be catastrophic, not just for Greece, but also for Portugal, Spain, Italy, and who knows whom else.

In their October 18 communiqué, eurozone leaders stated in no uncertain terms that they are not prepared to go there. Given Europe’s facility at creative accounting, some way will be found to keep Greece on life support.

So, is the crisis really over? In focusing on summit declarations and promises of far-reaching reforms of EU institutions, investors are missing the real risk: the collapse of public support for, or at least public acquiescence to, the austerity policies required to work down heavy debt burdens – and for the governments pursuing these policies. Mass anti-austerity protests are one warning sign. Another is growing popular support for neo-Nazi movements like Golden Dawn, now the third-largest political party in Greece.

The rise to power of a “rejectionist” European government – that is, one that unilaterally rejects the policy status quo – would immediately bring the crisis to a head. A Greek government that summarily rejected conditions set by the EU and the International Monetary Fund would immediately be cut off by the ECB and forced to exit the euro. A Spanish government that did likewise would lose all prospect of support from the ECB’s OMT program, and the markets would quickly pounce.

Some will object that dire warnings of political reaction are overdrawn. So far, no country has voted into power a rejectionist administration. Even in Greece, where conditions are the worst, Golden Dawn is still a minority party. The answer to these critics is, unfortunately, “just wait.” It is worth recalling that nearly four years passed from the onset of the Great Depression in Germany to the Nazis’ accession to power.

Europe needs a growth strategy to put this political genie back in the bottle. It needs policies that hold out the promise of lower unemployment and better times. The continuing absence of such policies is the gravest threat to the euro. Unless that changes, markets will wake up to that risk – perhaps with a jolt – sooner or later.

This column is part of the European growth strategy expert sourcing jointly organised by Social Europe Journal, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the IMK of the Hans Boeckler Stiftung and the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI).

Golden Dawn brings wave of violence The illegal aliens brought the wave of violence

by: James Bone

November 12, 2012 11:28AM

GREEK neo-Nazi MPs have embarked on a campaign of violence, spewing racist insults, inciting supporters and allegedly beating up immigrants, gays, and political opponents.

Of the 18 Golden Dawn MPs elected in June, four have been stripped of their parliamentary immunity to face investigation for violent offences. A fifth has been accused of attacking the Mayor of Corinth with a whip.

The party leader recently gave a Nazi-style salute to young supporters in Athens and his wife, also an MP, told Parliament that immigrants were "subhumans". Another MP insisted that a Greek basketball star who has played on the national team for 12 years was not Greek because he was black.

A gay blogger told The Times that he was spat upon and punched by two Golden Dawn MPs as a third yelled homophobic abuse and egged on party thugs. A delegation that went to Parliament to protest about racist attacks was attacked by a Golden Dawn MP. Do any of these fictional characters have names? Any of them willing to make accusations in public under their real names?

Police bodyguards have been withdrawn from Golden Dawn MPs after the officers were criticised for failing to stop assaults. Nikos Dendias, the Public Order Minister, presented the parliament with a list of 15 reports of threats or violence made against Golden Dawn since the election, including six that allegedly involved sitting MPs.

Dimitri Psarras, author of The Black Book of Golden Dawn, said: "These were violent people long before they became MPs. Golden Dawn is a real neo-Nazi movement. It's not neo-Fascist or extreme Right. It's the only organisation in Greece that still loves Hitlerism and reads [the Nazi ideologist Alfred] Rosenberg and [the Nazi propaganda chief Josef] Goebbels. The violence is for them the message of their politics."

The party claims that it is being persecuted by mainstream parties and the media. Nikolaos Michaloliakos, the Golden Dawn leader, complained on Greece's Skai TV last week that other MPs accused of crimes had been allowed to keep their immunity.

Golden Dawn, which had been a tiny fringe party, stormed into parliament for the first time in May with almost 7 per cent of the vote, a result confirmed by a second election the next month. In parliament, the new Golden Dawn MPs have apparently been ordered not to socialise with those of other parties, who shun them anyway.

Breaking with normal practice, MPs voted to deny the neo-Nazi party a post in the Speaker's office.

The world got a first taste of Golden Dawn's propensity for violence when a TV clip of the party's parliamentary spokesman slapping a female MP during a live talk show went viral on the internet. Ilias Kasidiaris faces a criminal investigation for hitting Liana Kanelli, a Communist MP. "The first was a slap. The second and the third were a fist," Ms Kanelli told The Times.

Mr Kasidiaris is one of the four Golden Dawn MPs stripped of immunity but not for the assault on Ms Kanelli. He faces charges from before he was elected, alleging his involvement in a 2007 attack on a university lecturer by thugs who prosecutors say used Mr Kasidiaris's car. He denies the charges.

The other three MPs stripped off immunity - Konstantinos Barbarousis, Panayiotis Iliopoulos and the "black metal" rocker George Germenis - are under investigation for smashing up the stalls of immigrant market vendors. The main evidence against them comes from videos of the attacks posted on Golden Dawn's own website.

Polls put Golden Dawn in third place behind the ruling New Democracy party and the main opposition Radical Left Coalition (Syriza), with up to 14 per cent of the vote.

Golden Dawn Lands in Italy as Race Attacks Increase in Athens

By Gianluca Mezzofiore

November 12, 2012

Greece's neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party has set up an Italian branch in the north-eastern city of Trieste, according to local reports.

Alba Dorata (Golden Dawn Italy) was founded by Alessandro Gardossi, formerly a member of Forza Nuova, a neo-fascist organisation that has ties with Greece's far-right party, Huffington Post Italy reported.

Gardossi said he has already registered the party's emblem, a crowned squared spiral on a blue-coloured background.

He is planning to keep in touch with Italy's far-right movements and parties, such as CasaPound - nicknamed Fascists of the third millennium.

The development came after Athens police announced they are investigating another xenophobic assault against a 28-year-old Bangladeshi man who has been stabbed in Greece's capital.

Rights groups have warned of an explosion in racist violence over the last year. They say the severity of the attacks and tools used has increased, from simple fists to assaults with metal bars, bats and knives.

"Violence is getting wilder and wilder and we still have the same pattern of attacks ... committed by groups of people in quite an organised way," Kostis Papaioannou, former head of the Greek National Commission for Human Rights, said.

The attacks often occur against illegal migrants who are seeking a better life in the European Union. In most cases, victims are too afraid to give doctors the details of what happened.

"Every day we see someone who complained of (some form) of racist violence," said Nikitas Kanakis, president of the Greek section of Doctors of the World. The association has recorded some 87 cases of racist attacks between January and September.

In November, Golden Dawn MPs have been involved in a race attack against migrants in a central Athens neighbourhood after an immigrant allegedly stabbed a hairdresser in the area.

Golden Dawn extremists have been involved in a number of race-related attacks on immigrants and human rights activists over recent months.

Following the spate of attacks, Greece's parliament has decided to strip three MPs from the far-right party - Panagiotis Iliopoulos, Giorgos Germenis and Ilias Kasidiaris - of their immunity from prosecution.

Despite the controversies, Golden Dawn's popularity rose by 12 percent in the latest poll.

When nationalists fall out: what distinguishes LAOS from Golden Dawn

http://youtu.be/R9-ZtIz0uAs
[video in Greek - has nearly 62,000 views]

I’ve previously suggested that radical nationalist, anti-immigrant discourse has had a resonance in Greece for a while now, as demonstrated by the emergence of LAOS (Popular Orthodox Rally) from 2000, and that it’s superficial to connect the rise of Golden Dawn to the country’s economic collapse that began in 2009. Of course, LAOS and Golden Dawn aren’t identical – Golden Dawn has openly flirted with Nazism, has had a more ambivalent attitude towards Christianity and describes itself as anti-capitalist whereas LAOS has generally played by the rules of parliamentary democracy, would regard itself as upholding Greek Orthodoxy and even though speaks out against globalisation has no real anti-capitalist agenda; but the two parties do share many characteristics and it was only LAOS’s disastrous decision to back the first austerity bailout that led to it’s decimation at the May and June elections and the abdication of far-right populist space to Golden Dawn.

In fact, if you watch the above (often comical) debate, aired just before this year’s June election on the appropriately named Kontra channel, between Golden Dawn’s Ilias Kassidiaris and LAOS’s Kostas Plevris, it becomes clear, despite the vitriol of both men, that the differences between LAOS and Golden Dawn are marginal, coming down, according to Plevris, to violence and nepotism, and, in Kassidiaris’ view, to ideological consistency and collaboration with the existing political system. [That's great to hear - #2 man in GD is in favor of ideological consistency, unlike virtually all American WN; he doesn't act like System conservatives are his friends, rather they are his enemies]

Indeed, it’s worth pointing out that Kostas Plevris is regarded as a leading ideologue of the particular form of far-right nationalism common to LAOS and Golden Dawn. His most notable work is Jews: the whole truth, a tract for which he was tried for inciting racial violence. Despite being acquitted of the charge, it’s fair to say that Plevris is a Holocaust denier and proponent of the theory that there exists a Jewish conspiracy aimed at bringing down Western civilisation as revealed by the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Below is a summary of the debate between Plevris and Kassidiaris.

It starts off with Plevris accusing Kassidiaris of assaulting a number of LAOS luminaries – publisher Dimitris Zaphiropoulos and former MPs Adonis Georgiadis and Thanassis Plevris – using a knuckle-duster and pepper spray; a charge Kassidiaris denies, saying if it he were so tough he wouldn’t be in Greece but in Hollywood, starring in karate films alongside Chuck Norris. Plevris then presses the button he knows will upset Kassidiaris most, and this relates to the criminal charges Kassidiaris faces of assault and robbery, charges Kassidiaris strenuously denies and insists he’s being framed for by the false testimony of Syriza ‘pimps’, who he accuses Plevris of now supporting by airing the allegations.

Plevris returns to his claim that Kassidiaris assaulted various senior members of LAOS and takes out his mobile to phone one of Kassidiaris’ alleged victims, Adonis Georgiadis, to confirm the incident. Plevris repeats the accusation that Kassidiaris assaulted Dimitris Zaphiropoulos with pepper spray and a knuckle-duster, in the presence of Zaphiropoulos’ pregnant wife, leaving Zaphiropoulos needing six stitches to his head.

There then follows an exchange on financial propriety, with Kassidiaris accusing LAOS of lashing out at Golden Dawn because LAOS, since it lost its parliamentary representation (in the May elections) and the funding that goes with it, is now in serious financial straits and desperately needs to pick up Golden Dawn votes to return to parliament. Kassidiaris adds that, unlike LAOS, Golden Dawn will use the money it’s entitled to as a parliamentary force not to enrich itself but for social programmes to benefit the hard up in society – a claim Plevris laughs at.

Kassidiaris then accuses Plevris of proclaiming he’s an anti-Zionist while at the same time being a member of a party that supported prime minister Lucas Papademos – the Jews’ point-man in Greece, according to Kassidiaris – whose government negotiated the second bailout memorandum.

One of the panel of journalists then asks Plevris, given he is a Holocaust denier and regarded as a leading theoretician of nationalism, why he is not drawn to joining Golden Dawn. Why are you in LAOS and not Golden Dawn?

Plevris: I disagree with certain political tactics and actions associated with Golden Dawn. I don’t believe you tackle the immigration issue by going out and assaulting some wretched immigrant. Furthermore, I consider such actions cowardly, which don’t correspond to the spirit or ethics of nationalism. For five or six men to go out and attack some wretched Pakistani does not provide a solution to the immigration problem, nor is it ethical when one man is beaten my many.

Plevris goes on that nationalism is incompatible with nepotism and he accuses Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos of placing his wife on the party’s list of parliamentary candidates and smoothing the way for her to becoming an MP.

Kassidiaris responds by bringing up the subject of Plevris’ son, Thanassis, a post-room boy, according to Kassidiaris, who only became a prominent LAOS MP because of his father’s reputation and influence. Plevris denies he had anything to do with promoting his son’s career in LAOS.

The sniping continues for a bit, until Plevris suggests that he wouldn’t be surprised if, backstage, Kassidiaris were to assault him just like he assaulted other LAOS stalwarts. Except, Plevris says to Kassidiaris, unlike Georgiadis, who didn’t fight back, if you touch me I’ll lay you out flat. Plevris challenges Kassidiaris to step outside and show what kind of a man he is. Kassidiaris laughs this off and calls Plevris an ‘old man’ and a ‘little man’.

Kassidiaris then suggests that Plevris is an entrenched part of the political system that brought Greece to its knees and again accuses Plevris of only pretending to be an anti-Zionist, saying he foisted Jews on the country by supporting the bailout memorandums and the government of Lucas Papademos, who, Kassidiaris says, has served on the shadowy Trilateral Commission, established by David Rockefeller. All of which prompts Plevris to offer an ironic round of applause.

A journalist on the panel then asks Plevris how he feels about his aforementioned son, Thanassis, leaving LAOS to join the mainstream conservative party New Democracy. Plevris denies any family rift, then engages in a monologue regarding Greece’s debt, wanting to know where all the money that contributed to the exorbitant debt was spent and saying he has launched a legal complaint against former prime minister, Giorgos Papandreou, to find out the truth.

Returning to Kassidiaris, Plevris expresses regret that they had such an unpleasant argument and says that for 50 years he’s been writing and educating young people about Greek nationalism and in return he only ever asked one thing: respect.

In this spirit of reconciliation, Kassidiaris says his confrontation with Plevris was political, not personal, only for Plevris to remind Kassidiaris that he called him a ‘little man’ and Kassidiaris to accuse Plevris of calling him a ‘thug’. Kassidiaris says: ‘I’m not a thug. I’m the spokesman for a political party that sits in parliament.’

Plevris then attempts to defend LAOS’s decision to vote in parliament for the first bailout memorandum and argues about this with Panagiotis Melas of the conservative Independent Greeks party, which is anti-memorandum.

Plevris is again asked about his son, who defected from LAOS to New Democracy, whether he regards him as a ‘traitor’ and he says he doesn’t. Plevris then repeats his accusation that Golden Dawn is nepotistic and says that the wife of party leader Nikos Michaloliakos was placed on the party’s parliamentary candidate list at the behest of her husband; something Kassidiaris vehemently denies, arguing it was a question of fulfilling the law on women’s quotas and that, in any case, she was put forward independently, under her own name, Eleni Zaroulia, not as the party leader’s spouse. Kassidiaris ends the debate by accusing Plevris of being a liar, ridiculous and hard of hearing.

[unprincipled church blows hot and cold, as ever]

Church of Greece split over role of neofascist Golden Dawn party

By Apostolos Lakasas

Archbishop Ieronymos faces a serious challenge as the leadership of the Church of Greece appears deeply split on a range of significant issues including the role of the ultranationalist Golden Dawn party and the debt-wracked country’s bailout agreement.

Some of Ieronymos’s decisions appear to have been influenced by pressure from other senior clerics, a number of whom like to portray him as an apologist for the so-called New World Order.

Sources close to Ieronymos say that some of his recent comments – such as his recent criticism of the memorandum when he said that Greeks are “victims of all-out usury” – have been the result of outside pressure.

Meanwhile, other leading clerics, spearheaded by Bishop Amvrosios of Kalavryta and Bishop Seraphim of Piraeus, have made no secret of their support for Golden Dawn.

Seraphim has often spoken out in public against Jews and homosexuals. For his part, Amvrosios recently called on Golden Dawn officials to change their style so as to boost their ratings.

In the opposite corner are Bishop Pavlos of Siatista and Bishop Chrysostomos of Messinia, along with a number of other clerics. Pavlos was the main rapporteur of a Holy Synod circular that criticized the memorandum. He recently made the headlines by attacking Greece’s neofascist party in a speech where he stressed that the ideas of Golden Dawn and the teachings of the Gospel are “in direct contradiction and mutually exclusive.” Several bishops followed his example.

Observers say the mild-mannered Ieronymos will find it hard to find any middle ground between the two sides and at the same time administer Church finances which have been seriously dented by the declining value of National Bank shares and other assets.

“The archbishop has had to grapple with the beasts, which is out of character,” said an unnamed source, who added that many people wished he possessed the communication skills of the late Archbishop Christodoulos – if not his political ambitions.

“He knows that the more conservative albeit charismatic Bishop Nikolaos of Mesogaia is lurking around the corner. He wants to distance himself from the extremists, without engaging in direct confrontation with them. He is a low-key individual who despises conflict.”

Nevertheless, a section of Greece’s religious leaders want to stop Golden Dawn from using the Orthodox religion and popular religious sentiment as a means of extracting political capital from the electorate. Several are making steps to reinforce the Church’s social mission while a number of issues – such as ending state control over Church property that could be used to create a fund for weaker social groups – still remain unresolved.

Why is this relevant? It is relevant because their smear campaign against GD seeks to make guilt by association. The late Arkan has been so thoroughly demonized by the globalist media that the mere mention of his name elicits hysteria hatred scorn, and in some cases even violence directed at the unfortunate person trying to make the case that the man was not a war criminal or butcher of civilians.

Below the Arkan pic one can also see the old Royalist Serbian emblem.

I would really like to see Serbia supporting GD but that is not going to happen any time soon, and certainly not with the current group of criminals at the helm of the nation.

Mr Samaras' Menorah:

Hopefully someone will bring this up at the next parliament meeting See, unlike in most of the insane world, in Greece the fact that the President of a "secular" nation kowtows to the hate symbols of .001% of his country's population will likely get questioned by the masses who have shunned most mainstream media.

It doesn't even look like an actual menorah (trust me, I've seen more in this wretched shitty than Goebbels did in his worst nightmares), more like an Employee Of The Month trophy.

BBC Says Golden Dawn’s Rise Mimics Hitler

By Stella Tsolakidou on November 13, 2012 in Media, news, Politics, United Kingdom

Laurence Rees, a former creative director of history programs for the BBC and the author of six books on World War II, has put together a report examining the conditions that allowed Adolph Hitler to rise to power in Germany and drew comparisons between the Nazis and the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party in Greece.

According to the report, history does not really repeat itself but it can surely warn of what is to come. The author examines the harsh economic situation currently plaguing, similar to that before the Wall Street Crash of 1929. Unemployment rates of 25.4 percent and the sense Greeks have of being humiliated by international lenders – what Germany felt after the end of WWI and the harsh terms of the Treaty of Versailles which let Hitler rise are being seen in Greece, the report noted.

What seemed like Hitler’s weaknesses because his attributes after Great Depression because people were hungry and desperate – just as many Greeks are now. Hitler used that to turn people against his enemies, Jews and the Communists, said Rees, whose piece, The Dark Charisma of Adolf Hitler, has begun airing on the BBC.

Rees sees it as ironic that the Greeks greeted German Chancellor Angela Merkel during her visit in Athens with protesters waving swastika banners, while at the same time the radical right political movement of Golden Dawn is gaining in power. “And it is led by a man who has claimed there were no gas chambers in Auschwitz. Can there be a bigger warning than that?” Rees said.

Golden Dawn, which got only 0.29 percent of the vote in the Greek elections in 2009 and was considered a near-lunatic fringe party, soared to 6.97 percent and 18 seats in Parliament this year after 2 1/2 years of crushing pay cuts, tax hikes and slashed pensions drove people into poverty and the extremists offered what they told people was a way out. New polls put them at nearly 14 percent, third among the country’s political parties and on a path to win as many as 36 seats in the 300-member Parliament at the next elections.

In an interview with the German newspaper Die Zeit Alexis Tsipras has stated that SYRIZA will now support to implement extreme austerity measures proposed by head of Deutsche Bank Josef Ackermann against Greek workers in exchange for a new “haircut” to the Greek debt. Interesting how SYRIZA stated plainly that it would block all austerity measures, however it is typical of controlled opposition, the promises suddenly are no good after the people vote them into parliament! Many Greeks voted for SYRIZA due to its ridiculous promise of maintaining Greece in the EU while blocking all austerity measures regarding its debt, Tsipras never explained how this was possible, now we know why: He was simply lying!

The Red friend of the fractional banking corrupt parasites at the European Central Bank, Tsipras, in the interview also went on the attack against the Greek people as a whole, blaming every day people forced into debt-interest slavery by the modern, alien system of credit for the failed ventures of a handful of outside greedy speculators/gamblers and partners in crime in the Greek government. The immense corruption and numerous under the table deals between the previous PASOK government and European Central Bank, Goldman Sachs, and other money-lenders makes the grand portion of the Greek debt illegitimate, but like a typical self-loathing globalist Marxist-for-hire, Tsipras blames Greeks and Europe first.

The reality of the matter is that most large, well-funded Leftist organizations in the West are little more than controlled opposition, only really keeping their promises when it comes to pushing moral decline (famous Corpus Christi defenders, against the will of the majority), undermine national sovereignity, and overlook or even foment the social problems caused by illegal immigration. The rage of the majority of people against having to subsidize world usury is being used by SYRIZA for votes, but the rhetoric is empty and the cuts to the social state will be implemented just as New Democracy plans (despite the “Ackerman haircut”, which would still leave an unpayable amount of debt, a debt that should not even be considered legitimate until all the “loose ends” regarding Goldman Sachs, the ECB , and government corruption are investigated) . With a major presence in the Hellenic parliament and apparent surpassing of New Democracy in opinion polls, SYRIZA could easily force new elections against austerity via mass resignation, yet they have refused in order to distract people with red flags on the street while Samaras and SYRIZA further crucify common Greeks on the altar of funny money.

The self-proclaimed revolutionaries of SYRIZA are active participants in the rape of the middle and working classes of Greece. The Marxist-NeoConservative coalition ruling the nation today has lied many times, but a bombshell like this one can only benefit Golden Dawn. Tsipras and SYRIZA are not loyal to Greece, they are loyal to the coralling of Europeans into the EU , easy prey by international money. Tsipras is a “Good European”, as he described himself. If you had any question as to why the Pedophiles at the BBC, the Pro-Israel yet Anti-Greek Nation New York Times, or any other major lie-machines have completely ignored an openly Trotskyist/Communist party like SYRIZA topping the polls, now you know why: they’re in the system’s pocket and will be tagged in to continue the plan of Samaras’ collapsing government if push comes to shove.

Golden Dawn is the only party that does not lie to the people. Golden Dawn is the only party that puts Greeks before any foreign bank. Golden Dawn is the only force proven to be above corruption and bribery, our noble ideals prevent us from failing our people. As the common man begins to realize that Communism and monopoly Capital are both on the same team in the game of global power, a Golden Dawn will rise in Greece and inspire a new awakening throughout the West, until Bolshevism, usuary, and deracination become nothing but a tragic footnote in history!

Massive Write Up on the hypocrisy of our opposition

http://xaameriki.wordpress.com/2012/...l-than-others/

Pictured: A racially motivated attack against a woman in East Jerusalem near her home for thousands of years. While the media vainly tries to tie Golden Dawn to “racist violence”, this behavior goes unreported

The alliance of mainstream media, ‘radical’ leftists, neo-conservatives, racist but powerful lobbies, and corrupt politicians have been attacking Golden Dawn mercilessly. Every day the New York Times, Washington Post, and other paid-for media publishes new slanders and inflammatory unproven lies to whip up hysteria and hatred against the People’s Nationalist movement and the Greek people.

Yet just last week, the New York Times published an editorial by Colin Shindler that essentially equated protest against Zionism with anti-Semitism. Now, even the most sympathetic definition of Zionism is that it is an ethno-nationalist movement that seeks to put the interests of Jewish people over all else. Indeed, most of the 19th century founders of the Zionist movement were secular or even Atheists, preferring to emphasize biological/racial ties of Jewish people and religion after, which is emphasized by the encoded Israeli right of return where a Jewish individual born and raised in LA or Buenos Aires with no proven ancestors in the region has more of a right to live in a West Bank settlement than a Palestinian, regardless of his relation to talmudic judaism.

According to the opinions published by the New York Times, if opposition to Jewish expressions of ethnic nationalism is racist, then aren’t the (completely slanderous, baseless) daily attacks of this bird cage liner on Greek nationalism just as racist? Under cross-examination in a court of public opinion, the New York Times would be convicted of self-incriminating hate speech against Hellenes, racism against the West!

But they’re not the only ones. The racist double-standard of favoring radical nationalism for one group, but denying basic self-determination for another has infected all of American society. President Obama himself stressed at an AIPAC meeting last year that he stands by Israel as a specifically Jewish state! Why won’t Obama come out to defend Golden Dawn against the incredible hate campaign of smears it is undergoing around the world? Why won’t he come out to defend Greece as a specifically Greek democracy like he does with Israel?

But let’s not bite off more than we can chew, let’s focus on the local villains that are trying to harass and sabotage the purely philanthropic works of collecting goods for impoverished Greeks in the America’s and Australia, let’s have a taste of the vitriol and real racism spewed by two non-Greeks, Alan Feuer and Daniella Silva of the New York Times, against the Greek diaspora members that happen to support a legal, fairly elected party and their non-Greek allies in New York City:

“Reported Golden Dawn Sightings Rattle Queens

IT was news to arouse the indignation of many residents of Queens: Golden Dawn, the neo-Nazi group based in Athens, had established an office in Astoria — or so it seemed.

The evidence was elusive: late last month, a professional Web site suddenly appeared, showing the party’s swastikalike logo set against a dark Manhattan skyline and calling on the city’s Greek diaspora to donate food and clothing to a charity drive to benefit struggling poor people in Greece. There were pictures on the site: one was of a group of men with their backs turned to the camera, wearing black T-shirts reading, in Greek, “Golden Dawn New York.”

Golden Dawn New York sightings “rattle” Queens? Are we are we the escaped convicts from “Last House On The Left”? Are we Hurricane Sandy? Are we the Chupacabra? The language alone is inflammatory, made to provoke fear and hatred of our noble cause in the minds of mediocre individuals just because the controlled media doesn’t believe Greeks have a right to a homeland. The reality of the matter is that Golden Dawn New York went around the Greek community, openly in our shirts, patronizing as a group many public establishments, and had nothing but an outpouring of support and generosity, with numerous people asking us where they could sign up! Our group collected more donations for Greece than even the local churches. The reaction was a sigh of finally , not, “Oh no, come save us PASOK, SYRIZA, and New Democracy!” (who all have offices in New York City, business executives and Marxist academia recently inaugerated a Communist SYRIZA office in NYC with 0 protest. How many donations has this unhindered, system backed, well-funded office collected to send to the poor people of Greece? Also 0. )

Golden Dawn had no problems operating, with our charity drives published publicly on the internet for the world to see and attend as they wish for many months, until communist hack Andy Dabilis told the big name papers and power moguls to do something about it! We did NOT operate out of the Hellenic Federation as was reported, however, but we did operate in other places without any problems until the media created the rattles . The pathetic attempt at a “Stop Golden Dawn” coalition was by no means “Grassroots” as the New York Times claims, but rather encouraging full-time “Leftists” on George Soros’ payroll to organize mostly non-Greek communists, hypocrites, corrupt local politicians, and racists to try and form a lynch mob. It didn’t work, but the intentions are cruel none the less, especially towards the elderly pensioners and poor children of Greece who are desperately in need of crucial medicine and goods Greek stores no longer have or sell at extremely high prices . I can’t think what kind of monsters would actually attempt to do all this just to push a globalist agenda at the top, and get a smooth ride on the bandwagon at the bottom.

According to the New York Times, the Golden Dawn is “neo-nazi”, the Golden Dawn has a Swastika as a symbol. These are unfounded libels, and on top of that New York Times also uses openly Trotskyist communist “news” sources like www.thenorthstar.info as trusted “sources”, painting them as mere liberals and encouraging everyone to root for them!

Now let’s imagine for a second that the New York Times was more than just Cuban toilet paper, indirectly encouraging communist violence, boycotts, harassment of the Greek-American community, and witch hunts against citizens collecting charity for their people and practicing their First Amendment rights, while winking. Let’s imagine it was a fair periodical, written by ethical journalists, this is how the article would’ve been written:

“Golden Dawn Now Operating In Greek community Of Queens”

“It arouse the support of many in the Greek diaspora but caused indignation of mostly non-Greek Trotskyites and Anarchist street gangs, the Greek nationalist group Golden Dawn appears to have opened an office in Astoria.

The message of Golden Dawn, “Greece for Greeks”, resonates with many in the Greek-American community, who were forced to flee their homeland by a corrupt globalist government that pampers illegal aliens while natives starve, an economy wrecked by usuary and speculation, and uncontrolled crime on the streets.

Golden Dawn NYC, whose logo is a traditional Greek motif, the Meander, on a dark Manhattan skyline, seeks to collect donations to send back to specifically Greeks, a microscopic version of similar charity drives in the Jewish community of NYC and Israel where millions of dollars of aid were sent to specifically Greek-Jewish businesses that were struggling.” http://www.jta.org/news/article/2012...wish-community

Ah, now that sounds different doesn’t it?

But it doesn’t end there. Politicians and hypocritical ethnic nationalists from other groups have gotten in on the action as well, condemning Golden Dawn despite the group expressing no interest in the politics of New York City, but rather of Greece.

Here are some who took part in the massive rally at Athens Square Park in Astoria…all 10 of them (with lots of cameras taking pictures to make it look like there was more) http://queenscourier.com/2012/pols-r...p-golden-dawn/

ImageBill De Blasio “Public Advocate”-

“You are not welcome in this community, this city or this country,” de Blasio said in a statement. “Your hatred and bigotry will fall on deaf ears in Queens, the most diverse county in America, where people of every race, creed and nationality live side by side in harmony.”

Leftists who applauded De Blasio coming out to support you note: De Blasio is a “public advocate” for an all out war in Iran, with American participation, because he feels it is a threat to the ethnic nationalist interests of the state of Israel. You can do a google search of him and find many of his pet projects supporting this. What is most shocking about De Blasio, is that he speaks for the Greek community , yet has not done anything to involve himself in the community, unlike others in his jurisdiction. You will never see De Blasio at Greek monuments, in folk clothing, paying respect and swearing allegiance to Greeks. We at Golden Dawn could care less what De Blasio says or thinks, however, we would like to ask why he supports ethnic self-determination in Israel, yet if Greeks want nationalism it is “racism”? We don’t ask Mr De Blasio to change his views, we merely ask him to show respect to the Greek diaspora that he shows the Jewish diaspora, and not threaten and smear those who happen to be supporters of Golden Dawn!

The New York Times did report the massive crackdown on African immigrants, targeting them for their dark skin, in Israel, although they managed to do it without the slurs of “Neo-Nazi” and “racist”. The only mention of racism in the whole article, was a protester leading the anti-immigrant push saying “this is not racism, it’s survival”. In Israel illegal immigrants will get a mandatory 3 years in a concentration camp, and smugglers will get 10 years, imagine the uproar if Greece proposed anything remotely similar. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/05/wo...m-seekers.html Why doesn’t Bill De Blasio hold any press conferences in NYC about the millions of Netanyahu supporters that applauded this measure in our city? What rational explanation is there, other than De Blasio is a racist who is targeting Greeks and tolerating nationalist ideas in other communities?

Image But it gets better, these hacks even managed to scrape up a token Greek, Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas -
“New York City, and Astoria in particular, are models of diversity and tolerance. There is no room for any kind of hate group to promote an anti-immigrant agenda in our city, especially here in the heart of our community,” Simotas said. “I immigrated to this country from Greece with my parents 33 years ago, and we were welcomed in Astoria with open arms by the generations of immigrants that came before us. This is what we in Astoria stand for as a community – not hatred and violence against immigrants, women and those who may be different from us.”

Here is Aravella, speaking on behalf of the Greek community. But what Greeks asked for her opinions, especially ones that are this prejudiced? The only reason Simotas won the election is because she ran uncontested! Rumors swirling around NYC have even said that the established elite Vallone family paid off the 2 people contesting her seat that mysteriously quit, as a favor. Simotas, in other words, will do and say anything to make connections and serve strangers with money over the Greek people.

Image
And in the ultimate irony of all, Ron Meier, representative of an ironically named group called the “Anti-Defamation League” that was founded due to the lynching of a convicted rapist and murderer of a small girl named Mary Phagan, came out to smear Golden Dawn with labels like “racist”, “holocaust deniers”, “neo-nazis”.

Why is this ironic?

-The Anti-Defamation League, due to it being a public relations outfit for the Israeli government, denied the Armenian Holocaust for many years which caused an outcry in that community. In fact, the tirelessly ADL lobbied congress in 2007 against a resolution where the United States government would acknowledge the Armenian genocide! In their defense, the Israeli government and the ADL did recently acknowledge it a few years ago, right after Israel broke relations with Turkey over the Gaza Flotilla incident. The Golden Dawn takes about as much interest in the narrative of Polish-Jews in World War II, as the ADL does in the holocaust of the Pontic Greeks. If anything, the ADL has historically been silent or apologetic about pro-Turkish revisionism of history books in the West, only breaking alliance with a government that has yet to acknowledge, much less pay reparations, to victims of its many genocides only when it crosses paths with Israel. With the myriad of problems Greece has today, most have little interest in debating something from 70 years ago.

-The Anti-Defamation League sues, attacks, and forces boycotts on anyone who dare to equate Zionism with Nazis, yet they turn around and do the same to the Greek social nationalist movement and its global supporters in the Greek diaspora. Accusing people you don’t agree with as “Nazis” is the lowest type of mud slinging, that has unfortunately become common place in much of the Western world as a kind of soft repression.

-Ron Meier attacks that Golden Dawn seeks to secure its borders, all while the ADL maintains radio silence on Israel’s massive crackdown (which some have equated to a pogrom) and illegal (by international law) detention in work camps of all African looking people within Israel’s borders.

The Greek community and other Westerners demand equal rights to the First Amendment that other ethnic communities in New York City enjoy, to support whatever movement its members want without, threats of violence, harassment, or terror from the Anti-Defamation League, the mainstream media, “Anonymous”, or international finances goons at ANTIFA/Occupy For Wall Street.

We at Golden Dawn America, demand to know why our peaceful charitable drives to send toys and shoes for impoverished Greek children and heart aspirin to supplement the starvation pensions of the elderly thrown away by the corrupt government of Greece are met with threats of violence, smears, and hatred, but this type of all too common and accepted behavior doesn’t spark any opposition campaigns from ANTIFA, Bill De Blasio, or other foot soldiers of selective gun-point globalization (credit to Max Blumenthal and Alternet, while I don’t agree with their ideas at all, at least they aren’t blatant hypocrites and are brave enough to cover this) :
