An Open Letter to Men Who Describe Themselves as ‘Chubby Chasers’
You should probably take “fat female appreciator” out of your bio. It’s cool that you can accept non-conventional beauty but fetishizing fat women and thinking of it as a personality trait worth mentioning in just the few sentences you shared about yourself is definitely creepy and is generally regarded as pretty fatphobic and honestly kind of misogynistic in general. Just like..commodifying members of a marginalized group is kind of shitty. As a fat woman it feels shitty to feel like men have to love us in a way that is different than the way men love conventionally attractive women. It feels like being part of a porn category as opposed to being a legitimate potential romantic partner. It’s never reassuring to feel like you’re mostly attractive to someone because you’re fat- not because you have nice eyes and they lay closely to your nose which compliments your lips and hair, which accentuates the curve of your back; all of the things that contribute to making one person attractive to another, a sort of equation of things comprised into one human that is for some combination of traits is attractive to another. It is a perpetuation of the way society reduces fat women to just that: fat. I do not and will not EVER tolerate unsolicited messages regarding my body or sexuality. I hold consent at the highest priority and will not allow others to objectify me with out my explicit consent. I feel no pressure to respond politely to any type of harassment, particularly that of which is sexual in nature. I occasionally post pictures of my nude body which are for the intended purpose of contributing to the representation of fat people depicted in attractive and confident settings. Often my pictures are along side commentary about what it is to be a fat woman in a fatphobic society and I ask that you please don’t reblog them for the purpose of fetishizing and commodifying fat female bodies. I frequently post about potentially triggering material including, but not limited to: violence against women racial violence racism in general ableism fatphobia rape sexual violence self harm trans* phobia homophobia Sometimes I post about my personal experiences with some of these things. Please be sensitive to the fact that some of these issues are more than part of my feminist ethics but things that are deeply entrenched into myself as an individual.

Entombed car unearthed after 40 years - Classic Cars
upi ^ | April 4, 2010 Posted on 4/4/2010 5:27:23 PM by JoeProBono KANKAKEE, Ill.- A 1958 Buick has been unearthed almost 40 years after three young men walled it up under an Illinois house as a practical joke , observers said. The Buick Special was abandoned in Kankakee, Ill., in 1971 when it broke down and its owner couldn't afford the repair costs, The Chicago Tribune reported Sunday. A local dealer had no use for it and gave it to the three jokesters, who bricked it behind a wall in the basement of a house one of them owned, the newspaper said. Daniel Newman, 65, one of the perpetrators of the gag, still lives in Kankakee. "It was just something to do. ... We just pushed it down there ... but first, we took the tires off because they were good," Newman said. John Tamblyn bought the house three years ago and discovered the car when he looked through a hole in the basement wall. "I was surprised it was in such good shape, considering the car is 52 years old," Tamblyn said. Tamblyn says he hopes to restore the car. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2486683/posts |

An open letter to LIAT By Arthur Hicks Wednesday, 17 April 2013 13:16 Dear LIAT, May I say how considerate it is of you to enable your passengers such an in-depth and thorough tour of the Caribbean. Most other airlines I have travelled on would simply wish to take me from point A to B in rather a hurry. I was intrigued that we were allowed to stop at not a lowly one or two but a magnificent six airports yesterday. And who wants to fly on the same airplane the entire time? We got to change and refuel every step of the way! I particularly enjoyed sampling the security scanners at each and every airport. I find it preposterous that people imagine them all to be the same. And as for being patted down by a variety of islanders, well, I feel as if I’ve been hugged by most of the Caribbean already. I also found it unique that this was all done on “island time,” because I do like to have time to absorb the atmosphere of the various departure lounges. As for our arrival, well, who wants to have to take a ferry at the end of all that flying anyway? I’m glad the boat was long gone by the time we arrived into Tortola last night — and that all those noisy bars and restaurants were closed. So thank you, LIAT. I now truly understand why you are “The Caribbean Airline.” P.S. Keep the bag. I never liked it anyway. http://bvibeacon.com/2/index.php?opt...-april-18-2013 http://now.msn.com/liat-airlines-com...?ocid=ansnowex |

Crush, Texas, was a short-lived town in McLennan County, about 15 miles (24 km) north of Waco. It was established to stage a publicity stunt concocted by William George Crush and the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. The stunt involved the collision of two 35-ton steam locomotives in front of spectators whom the railway transported to the event for $2 each. After heavy promotion, on September 15, 1896 the event was delayed by several hours as the police maneuvered the crowd of over 40,000 back to what was thought to be a safe distance. The crews of the two engines tied the throttles open and jumped off. The two engines, pulling wagons filled with railroad ties, traveled a 4-mile (6.4 km) track and thunderously crashed into each other at a combined speed of up to 120 mph (190 km/h). The boilers exploded and sent steam and flying debris into the crowd. Three people were killed and about six were injured, including event photographer Jarvis "Joe" Deane, who lost an eye because of a flying bolt.[6]

"I've been collecting cans recently in hopes of earning a little extra cash to put towards vet bills for my dog. I remember when my dad discovered can collecting back in the early 80s. He'd stop the car sometimes and make me run out to get a can. As I recall, we couldn't pick up Coke cans back then because they were tin, not aluminum. Once when we were walking on a roadside picking up cans, my mom tells of picking up a can that had a dead, liquified mouse inside of it. I didn't see that, thank goodness, but I think of that every time I pick up a can now. [shudder]" |

Give "Everlasting Treats" This Halloween!
This Halloween, trick-or-treaters will come to your door asking for a treat. It's the perfect time to drop a gospel tract in their bag along with the candy. What better "treat" is there than the gospel? As Christians, we don't celebrate Halloween, but it is one of the greatest opportunities we have to point a dying world to Jesus! It never gets easier than this to give kids and their families the gospel in one night.
