The exodus from Kamala Harris’ administration is poised to continue with two more senior advisers, who reportedly told their colleagues they are on their way out. The news comes a day after the VP’s spokesperson quit.

Peter Velz, the director of Harris’ press operations, and Vince Evans, the deputy director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, are reportedly set to resign in the near future, the Washington Post reported, citing administration officials.

Biden claims he was Israel ‘liaison’ when he was really in law school

US President Joe Biden claimed that he met with former Israeli PM Golda Meir during the Six-Day War – a time before she held the office and while he was still in law school.

Speaking at a menorah lighting for Hanukkah on Thursday, Biden claimed he had been a “liaison” between Israel and Egypt at the time. In fact, Biden was still a student at the Syracuse University College of Law during the brief 1967 conflict – and Meir herself would not be elected prime minister for another two years.

It appears Biden was actually referencing a meeting with Meir he had before the 1973 Yom Kippur War, six years later.

The memo notes that Biden felt it was “impossible to have a real debate in the Senate about the Middle East as senators were fearful of saying things unpopular with Jewish voters.”

Biden was also reportedly critical of the Nixon administration for being “dragged by Israel.” The president has seemingly left such hesitation in the dust in recent years, describing himself as a “Zionist” in 2007.

In an impassioned tweet early Friday, Bette Midler claimed Trump knew “full well he was positive” with COVID-19 before the debate, but deliberately turned up too late to be tested. Trump then “screeched, sputtered, spit, and foamed at the mouth, hoping to infect Joe.”

Poll: Majority Say Government Does Not Have Authority to Mandate Coronavirus Vaccines

Most voters say the federal government does not have the authority to mandate coronavirus vaccines, a Rasmussen Reports survey released Friday found.

The survey asked, “Federal courts have ruled against President Joe Biden’s policy of making COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for certain employees. Should the federal government have the power to make vaccination mandatory?”

Most, 57 percent, said “no,” the government does not have that power, while 35 percent said “yes,” and eight percent said “not sure.”

The vast majority of Republicans, 81 percent, said the government does not have that power, and 63 percent of independents agree. However, most Democrats, 59 percent, believe the government does, in fact, have the power to make the coronavirus vaccination mandatory:

Biden to propose new US-Russia relationship to Putin

US President Joe Biden will soon tell his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that Washington wants a more predictable relationship with Moscow, top American diplomat Antony Blinken has revealed in an interview.

Biden is expected to speak with Putin in the “near future,” Blinken told Reuters on Friday, and will tell the Russian leader the US will stand up to any “reckless or aggressive” actions by Russia.

However, the top US diplomat and long-time Biden foreign policy adviser said that the White House is looking for a more stable and predictable relationship with the Kremlin.

Republicans, businesses, and social media users have blasted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for an interview in which the Democrat questioned the existence of organized retail theft, calling her remarks “tone-deaf.”

Speaking to the Washington Times, the congresswoman – known by her initials, AOC – said that many “allegations of organized retail theft are not actually panning out,” and that the data “did not back up” pharmacy store chain Walgreens’ claims on organized theft.

Walgreens, which recently announced the closure of several of its California stores, citing organized retail crime as a reason, told the Washington Times that it considered organized retail theft one of its top challenges, and that this sort of criminal activity “has evolved beyond shoplifting and petty theft to the sale of stolen and counterfeit goods online.”

The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) also expressed its disappointment with AOC’s comments.

“Respectfully, the congresswoman has no idea what she is talking about. Both the data and stack of video evidence make fairly clear that this is a growing problem in need of solutions,” RILA Senior Executive Vice President of Communications Jason Brewer said, as quoted by the Washington Times.

Most Americans no longer have great trust in their military – poll

Trust in the US military has dropped so far that most Americans don’t have strong confidence in their armed forces, and the trend has accelerated since Joe Biden took office as commander-in-chief, the results of a new poll show.

The latest national defense survey by the Ronald Reagan Institute, released late last week, showed that just 45% of Americans have a “great deal” of trust and confidence in their military. The finding marked the first time that fewer than half of respondents to the survey have expressed strong trust in the troops.

Public confidence has tumbled 25 percentage points, from 70%, in the past three years. The rating has plunged 11 points in just the past nine months, under Biden, and the figures for other institutions are even lower. Only 19% of Americans polled had strong trust in the presidency as of November – down from 30% in February, the Reagan Institute survey showed. The same rating for law enforcement has dropped to 33% from 50% in the past three years, while media outlets have retained the confidence of just 10%, down from 16% in 2018.

The Treasury Department will publicize the event by slapping financial sanctions on “individuals who are engaged in malign activities that undermine democracy and democratic institutions around the world.”

But lying, power-hungry politicians will probably not be on the target list.

The White House says the summit of more than 100 nations will focus on “Defending against authoritarianism.” But Biden has no problem with the biggest authoritarian abuse of our times — the rise of Cage Keeper Democracies where citizens’ ballots merely designate who will place them under house arrest.

Poll: 82 Percent of Democrats Willing to Wear Masks Indoors at All Times Due to Omicron Fears

Eighty-two percent of Democrats are willing to wear face coverings indoors at all times due to fears of contracting the omicron coronavirus variant, a Tuesday Axios-Ipsos poll revealed.

Overall, 62 percent of Americans are willing to wear a mask indoors at all times, while just 38 percent of Republicans are willing to do so.

The poll also shows 94 percent of Democrats support private mask-wearing mandates at local businesses. Only 43 percent of Republicans agree. In total, 69 percent support private mask mandates.

When respondents were asked if they support preemptive travel bans to slow the variant’s spread, 67 percent overall said they would support the measure (72 percent of Democrats and 66 percent of Republicans).

Biden answers if US troops will head to Ukraine

The US moral and legal obligation to defend NATO allies if they come under attack does not extend to Ukraine, President Joe Biden said. The US sending troops there unilaterally is not an option, he added.

Speaking with reporters outside the White House on Wednesday, Biden said he will not send US troops to Ukraine in order to stop the allegedly imminent Russian “invasion.”

“That is not on the table. We have a moral obligation and a legal obligation to our NATO allies if they were to attack under article 5, it's a sacred obligation. That obligation does not extend to NATO, I mean to Ukraine,” he said.

New York governor imposes indoor mask mandate with $1k fine

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has ordered all businesses to implement an indoor mask mandate punishable by a $1,000 fine unless they require a Covid-19 vaccine pass, citing a winter surge in cases and blaming the unvaccinated.

Businesses and venues that do not require a vaccine pass for entry will have to ensure everyone over the age of two wears a mask “at all times while indoors,” Hochul announced on Friday. The mandate will go into effect on December 13 and stay until at least January 15, 2022, when it will be re-evaluated.

“We are heading upward in a direction that I no longer find sustainable,” Hochul said. Her office pointed to a 29% increase in hospitalizations since Thanksgiving. She blamed the surge on unvaccinated New Yorkers.
