I remember a jew on the radio named Ira Fistel. One day he said "I hate anything that has a right answer." He was a kibitzer and wanted to live in a world of opinion, where one could never lose by being wrong.

According to police, DeJean was speeding down Venice at 55 m.p.h to 75 m.p.h. when he slammed into Fistell's car, smashing it into a utility pole. Fistell, who was turning left from Venice onto Hauser, had apparently stopped in the middle of the intersection. He left about 30 minutes after the accident to go to the studio for his 11 p.m. broadcast.

Although investigators determined that Ira Fistell was not at fault for the accident, trouble began for him when he denied to police that he had been driving. Tonda Fistell insisted to authorities that she had been driving, police said, though several witnesses testified that they had seen her husband behind the wheel.

Ira Fistell's driver's license was expired at the time. "It's a serious traffic collision, there was a lot of carnage at the scene, and Mr. Fistell made a cold, calculated decision to mislead everyone about what happened," Morris said. "I thought it was a felony."

But Schwartz said the district attorney's office overcharged the Fistells because Ira Fistell is well-known, and because a young girl died in the incident.

"Would cameras have been parked out in front of the house of John Doe if he had been arrested for this offense? No way," the defense attorney said. "In some cases, someone gets a break because they're a celebrity . . . in this case, it was the opposite."<<<

I think what people really want is to feel like they participate in a reality beyond the mere physical. If the physical is all there is then your whole life, and indeed your whole race, is just a system of chemical reactions.

No, I haven't read it and didn't know it was modeled on Capote's. I have read a number of essays about it or related to Gary Gilmore, something else came out on that front a number of years ago. ... I've read a lot of essays from Mailer, the stuff from the sixties. It's not necessary bad, there's some insight, but you couldn't make anything jew-stinkier this side of Portnoy's Complaint.

What drives me insane is the total lack of logic about Christianity.

For example:

Why would praying to God do anything to change his outlook or his mind on anything? Doesnt God know all and wont he make the decision to let someone die or live on his own superior judgement? Why would he change his mind if one person had 100 people praying for them and another person only 10? Is it just a democracy?

Why would his son dying on a cross 2000 years ago absolve me of my sins? And since Jesus knew he was going to come back from the dead, was it really that big a sacrifice? I mean people sacrifice themselves for others every day in this world and die doing it, why was Jesus suffering so special?

They say that God gave his only son, Jesus. Why did God only have one son? Isnt he omnipotent and he would have had thousands of sons......why only one? Also did he enjoy it when he impregnated the virgin Mary?

Why does God allow little innocent children to be raped and abused? Christians say that it is free will, but it is the free will of the rapist, not of the child. God is a fucking asshole if he lets that shit happen and doesnt bother to strike the rapist or child killer down with a bolt of lightening.

I brought all this up to my inlaws last summer and my mother in law replied that I had to " ask God" about it......I told her that I would and that he had some major things to answer to if I ever meet up with him........

Finally, I cannot imagine a reasonable God who would not find people like Alex and I charming in our logic. He would have made us this way and would be glad that we actually think about these things and dont just take it for granted...

I read it many years ago. I also found the subject matter compelling, though very disturbing. I have driven by both the gas station in Provo where Gilmore killed that employee, as well as the prison where Gilmore was executed, literally hundreds of times in my life. It's a chilling thought.

Anyway, I found the Jew Mailer's writing to be perverted. That guy is a glorified pornographer.
