Mary Lou Retton has life threatening rare pneumonia

Olympic gymnast from the 1984 games, Mary Lou Retton age 55, is fighting for her life in the ICU with a rare form of pneumonia. She has been in the hospital for a week and can't breathe on her own. Is this another Vax related illness?
She has been known for being very fit and energetic so how did her health become so bad all of a sudden?

I've never heard of this Mary Lou Retton character before, but if she's the person in the above picture, then quite frankly, she looks like a transsexual.

That is her. With the short hair, and the muscular physique, she does look a bit manly.

She was a big star at the 1984 Olympics winning the women's all around gymnastic gold medal. She was also voted Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the year that year.
