U.S. needs nuclear spacecraft to compete with China, NASA official says
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 20 - NASA and U.S. aerospace experts urged Congress on Wednesday to invest more quickly and heavily in development of nuclear-powered spacecraft Wednesday to stay ahead of such competitors as China. The space agency believes spacecraft powered by a nuclear thermal rocket reach Mars in just three to four months, which is about half the time required by traditional, liquid propellant rockets. https://www.upi.com/Science_News/202...9971634743017/ https://news.yahoo.com/nasa-china-ru...194100936.html |

NASA was working on a nuclear rocket called NERVA in the 1960s for manned missions to Mars in the 1980s. Unfortunately, the idiots in Kwangress canceled funding for it because they needed the money for the Vietnam war and for non-White breeding and welfare programs. If their reason for needing one now is China like the Soviet Union was back then, fine. Just get it going, already. I've been waiting my whole life to see humans on Mars.
