Aldi's pissed that supplier is using horsemeat.

No, I'm not suggesting that's a reputable practice.

Hey, man, it's all about the supply chain.

(I'm just making light of the situation; not taking shots at anyone, you understand.)

I've only had cheval once. I was in Casablanca waiting for a train to Marrakech about 2 AM in the morning with a girl I'd met in Tangier. She'd just graduated from Berkley and was traveling about...a common thing to do in the 60s. She spoke fluent French. She wasn't hungry, but I was. I left the train station and wandered down a few streets and found a little side-street/restaurant open. I spoke no French or Arabic so I just got what was easy, a sandwich with skewered meat and some peppers, onions, and tomatoes on it. I went back to the train station and asked my new girl friend what cheval meant. It was horse meat...pretty damn good, too. I went back for seconds. (I knew the French word "Encore.")

Default Not my horse

I guess when it comes down to surviving I wouldn't have much trouble with it, as long as it wasn't my horse, but for now there are plenty of other things to eat.

Whether or not Aldi's had knowledge (they probably did). They should be pissed if they didn't, and need to pretend to be pissed if they did:/

A horse is a majestic animal. It also has utility. It would be unethical to slaughter it for food unless it was a survival situation.
