Hesiod's Prediction of Jewish Dominance

Recently when I had cause to re-read Hesiod's poem 'Works and Days' I happened to notice that one particular section of it stood out as if it was predicting the problems we are confronted with in relation to the jewish question today.

Now obviously I am not suggesting that Hesiod was necessarily given the gift of prophecy, but rather that Hesiod's intellectual formulation of the confrontation that occurs strikes a strong cord with what patriotic individuals and groups are fighting in relation to the jews. Such a formulation can be seen somewhat in the vein of the apocalyptic literature that has so long manifested itself among the jews, but yet Hesiod is not being apocalyptic rather he is suggesting that a time of struggle will come about on earth between those who fight for good (generally) and those who fight for evil (generally).

The difference between Hesiod and say the Book of Daniel is clear when we read what the former says. To wit:

'For now indeed is the race of iron, and never a day's space shall they cease from toiling and wretchedness, nor have a night without continuity of destruction; the gods will give them gnawing anxious cares.

Yet even in their evils there shall be a mixture of good.

Zeus will destroy these also, this race of mortal men, when even at their birth they shall be grey at the temples; when father shall not be at one with his children nor they with him, nor guest with host nor friend with friend nor brother shall be friendly as before.

These people shall dishonour their parents, even at the moment of ageing; they will fault them with words of abuse. Cruel, they will know nothing of the gods' vengeance; nor will they give to their parents in age a return for the cost of their rearing, nor shall oath-keeping have any grace among them, not yet justice and good.

Rather shall they honour the wreaker of evil, the man who is Insolence; justice shall be in their hands only, and shame shall be no more.

The evil man shall injure the better, speaking with crooked lies and swear with an oath to top them.

Envy shall attend all wretched mankind, envy malicious in voice, delighting in ill, with a face of hatred.

And on that day to Olympus, away from the broad wayed earth, to join the tribe of Immortals, and to leave men behind, Shame and Retribution go. But misery and pain are left for mortal men; there shall be no cure for ill.' (1)

Having read the above it is clear that Hesiod is somewhat apocalyptic, but in a very different way when compared to works such as the book of Daniel, which focus on the finality and awfulness of the end of time as they perceive it.

Hesiod by contrast focuses on the progressive fall of mankind (read the Greeks and plausibly their northern neighbours) from their semi-divine estate and the consequences of this fall. Rather than envisioning mass death and genocide as the Tanakh frequently does: Hesiod focuses on the fact that men are no longer pure and states that even evil men can still do good, which is fundamentally more realistic and natural than the absolutist jewish axiom that evil men only do evil.

This impure people are; so Hesiod calls them, the race of iron: they still retain a strong capacity for good, but are being brought down by evil-doers in their midst. Hesiod talks of the ones who will destroy this race of iron as coming from among them, but yet are somewhat different in that they seek to disrupt the national community and also break down the boundaries of trust between men (hence the lack of trust between brothers, friends, fathers and sons as well as between guests and hosts).

Further these subversives are afraid of children (hence their need to break down the father/son relationships) because in children lie the ultimate seed of their defeat and hence to Hesiod these subversives are like Zeus' father; Kronos, who feared children as being a threat to his individual power. (2) This is why Hesiod frequently refers to Kronos with the epithet 'of the crooked scheme' (3) or 'of the crooked counsel'. (4)

The subversives; like Kronos in relation to his divine children, fear the rise of the children of the race of iron (who; as the name implies, are a race of born soldiers led by warrior-kings) who will struggle to do more good than evil: so they focus on breaking up order and the sense of community as well as the familial bonds among them.

These subversives seek; as Hesiod tells us, to make the race of iron; and their children more especially (after all if they can't stop the race of iron having children they might as well attend to them as well), worship the 'wreaker of evil' rather than behaving in accordance with their own natures.

In essence Hesiod is here saying that the race of iron is to be; to use modern parlance, 're-educated' in the ways of the 'wreaker of evil' and distanced from its own good and moral instincts to struggle onwards and upwards. The values that these subversives teach are that men should be insolent towards others (to make it more likely they will kill each other in the ensuing fight), the best of the race of iron should be killed and/or seriously maligned (i.e. the evil men shall injure the better) and that men should swear false oaths to others in order to gain advantage.

What we are seeing described here is a subversive group inside of the society of the race of iron who are attempting to mould it to their vision of how society should operate. This group acts as a kind of conspiracy to spread disaffection among society creating anarchy which will act as an enabler for them to come to positions of prominence. This Hesiod illustrates with an allusion to a beehive with the conspirators acting as co-ordinated whole causing panic and disruption among their opponents and thus being at great advantage in the struggles and conflicts that necessarily follow. (5)

We should not misunderstand Hesiod's reference to women as this subversive entity as actually meaning women writ large (which he clearly cannot mean considering his positive comments about women just a few lines later), but rather that Hesiod; in a male-dominated world, believed that good characteristics were representative of male values and that bad characteristics were representative of female values.

Essentially Hesiod here is describing a dark conspiracy of outsiders from inside the race of iron: that are seeking to subvert its values by removing their most able opponents from contention, making false oaths to those who will accept them, encouraging social meltdown via the increase of disrespect and insolence and degrading the family unit with a view to removing it entirely from contention so that the race of iron propagates as little as possible.

Now if you simply replace 'subversives' with 'jews' and 'the race of iron' with 'Europeans' (who have the longest and most successful warrior traditions in history) then it is quickly evident that Hesiod's description of the destruction of the race of iron from the inside by a conspiracy of subversives who worship the 'wreaker of evil' is a close match with the situation in which we find ourselves today.

After all jews are doing all the things that Hesiod describes: they remove the most able of their opponents by seriously maligning them [aka calling them 'anti-Semites' and so on] as well as sometimes even murdering them [the cold-blooded murder of Yasser Arafat and Adolf Eichmann among many others], make false oaths to those who will accept them [for example the annual Kol Nidre prayer, the many Israeli promises to honour things like the Camp David Accords and the Holocaust Industry's broken promises not to try and extract more money out of previous victims], encourage social meltdown by suggesting disrespect and insolence are good things [hence the veritable barrage of material put out by a ludicrously jewish-dominated media industry that idolizes social disrespect and demand adherence to values that are to create the 'new man'] and the destruction of the familial unit [hence the rise of jewish-dominated and lead 'third wave' feminism as well as the promotion of homosexuality as an 'alternative lifestyle choice'].

Thus we can see that the jews fit the bill of Hesiod's subversives in the race of iron and while it is unreasonable to see him as an actual prophet: we can at least say that Hesiod words were themselves prophetic.
